Meet the Tutors

It is the intent of Carpe Schole' to provide our children a safe place to explore a restful classical Christian education through discovery, discussion, and contemplation. The tutors represent varying denominations of the Protestant faith. We believe in upholding and respecting the denominational, political, and parenting differences of the family unit while adhering to a common statement of faith and behavior standard while attending co-op events.

Danielle

Danielle is a former elementary classroom teacher with a master's degree in Educational Administration, and has homeschooled her two children for the past 7 years.  Throughout the past 20 years, she has also taught several age groups as an online ESL teacher, classical tutor, and shared educational methods and philosophy through educational conferences. These opportunities have broadened her love of learning and sharing it with others.  She has a heart for encouraging parents to pursue wonder and schole in education.

Erin

Erin has a bachelor's degree in psychology and has dedicated the past ten years to mentoring and educating children of all ages.  Throughout her career, she has served as a Montessori preschool teacher, reading interventionist, virtual English teacher, and private tutor.  She has touched the lives of children all around the globe and has experience using different models of learning.  Her greatest joy, however, has been homeschooling her own two children using the classical model of learning.  She has witnessed firsthand how the classical model encourages creativity and develops a culture of lifelong learning.

Betty

Betty has 25 years of experience working with children. She taught in a private US elementary school for 3 years and a Spanish school in Paraguay, South America. She loves culture and has lived abroad for 5 years and served in ministry as a pastor’s wife for 10 years in Texas. She has homeschooled her large family for 12 years including several high school graduates. She has taught at two local co-ops inclusive of 6 years as a classical tutor. She has experience preparing older students to enter college and will be an asset teaching writing skills to our middle grade levels.

Courtney

Courtney holds a master’s degree in exercise science. Her years working in clinical research yielded experience teaching to a wide range of students including patients and medical staff. She has served as an adjunct instructor at both the local junior college and university. She has taught church youth many years, 8 years as classical tutor for a range of ages and has homeschooled her 3 children classically for 10 years. As a former participant of another classical group, she was left seeking more curriculum flexibility, affordability, and the opportunity to spark wonder with a more individualized hands on educational experience. Her educational desires led her to establish this Scholé homeschool community.
